I do love a good story, and I am absolutely thrilled that I have been selected to share the story of The Soundtrack of My Life at The Story Party in London later this month.
I particularly wanted to take part in this month’s talk as it is to do with music, which means I get to tell a story about one of the many ways music has touched and changed my life.
It was hard to choose really. I could talk about how my love of George Harrison was the reason I was originally drawn to yoga in the first place (“George Harrison saved my life” has a lovely ring to it doesn’t it?).
I could talk about the way I discovered that I prefer live music sober long before I stopped drinking. I could talk about the friends I have made through music or the nights when hearing someone else verbalize my pain was the only thing that stopped me losing my mind.
I could talk about all this and more, music has infused every aspect of my life, but instead I will be Sharing the story of how Queens of the Stone Age unwittingly provided the catalyst for the breakdown that led to my recovery, a tale I love to share and have written about on this blog!
I hope to see you there!
